Tudor Targets Gila To Strengthen Juventus Ahead Of Club World Cup Campaign

Lazio centre‑back, Mario Gila, has become the subject of intense transfer speculation after Juventus appointed Igor Tudor as their new head coach. According to multiple Italian outlets, Tudor — who briefly worked with Gila following his own arrival at Lazio last season — has identified the 24‑year‑old Spaniard as a key recruit to bolster Juventus’s back line ahead of their Club World Cup campaign.

Since breaking into Marco Baroni’s starting XI this term, Gila has impressed with his composure, tactical intelligence and aerial presence, earning him a maiden call‑up to the Spanish national team. Despite a solitary subpar outing against Bologna, the Barcelona‑born defender has largely been a model of consistency, quickly establishing himself among Serie A’s most promising young centre‑backs.

Juventus reportedly view Gila as the ideal partner for veteran Brazilian Bremer, forming a complementary central‑defensive duo. However, Lazio president Claudio Lotito has drawn a firm line in the sand, demanding at least €60 million for any potential sale — a figure inflated by Real Madrid’s 50% sell‑on clause from Gila’s previous transfer.

Meanwhile, Lazio sporting director Angelo Fabiani has already opened contract renewal discussions with Gila’s representatives. Under his current deal, which runs until June 2027, Gila earns €500,000 per month — a modest salary relative to his burgeoning reputation. With Lazio unwilling to entertain offers below their valuation, any prospective bidder must present an exceptional proposal that offsets Real Madrid’s entitlement and convinces Lazio to part ways with one of their defensive cornerstones.
