Lazio's Arijon Ibrahimovic Picks Up Minor Injury, Expected To Miss 10 Days
Lazio have reportedly lost young midfielder Arijon Ibrahimovic to a muscle injury sustained during a training session in Formello. The teenager had only just joined the Roman club from Bayern Munich in the January transfer window.
The news came as a blow to Lazio, as Ibrahimovic—an attacking midfielder—has yet to make a significant impact for the team. While 11 of his Lazio teammates are away on international duty, the young German remained with coach Marco Baroni during the break, hoping to seize the opportunity to impress. However, according to Il Corriere dello Sport, he suffered a grade one muscle strain.
The injury is not considered serious, and the Rome-based newspaper reports that the 19-year-old is expected to be sidelined for about ten days. This means he will likely miss the upcoming fixture against Torino on March 31 but could return in time to play against Atalanta on April 6.
Ibrahimovic, a versatile player, joined Lazio on loan from Bayern Munich in January, with an option to buy included in the deal. So far, he has only made two brief appearances: the first in a Coppa Italia loss to Inter Milan, and the second in a 5-0 Serie A defeat against Bologna last weekend.
