Lazio Push To Secure Ibrahimovic’s Permanent Transfer From Bayern Munich
Despite limited playing time since his arrival, Lazio remain committed to securing the permanent transfer of young Bayern Munich forward Ibrahimovic. The Biancoceleste are actively negotiating with the German club to finalize a deal, as reported by Corriere dello Sport.
So far, Ibrahimovic has played just 12 minutes, featuring only in the closing stages of Lazio’s Coppa Italia match against Inter. However, despite his limited game time, Lazio see him as a promising talent and is determined to make his stay permanent. Sporting director Angelo Fabiani has already discussed the matter with the player’s agent, Rumenigge Junior, during a recent meeting in Plzen, described officially as a "courtesy discussion" but believed to have deeper implications.
While head coach Marco Baroni has given him little space in the squad, Ibrahimovic is reportedly happy at Lazio. Both Fabiani and club president Claudio Lotito are convinced of his potential and want to retain him in Rome. The 19-year-old, known for his raw talent and strong personality, was previously regarded as a promising star at Frosinone and is seen as a future asset for Lazio.
Lazio have the option to permanently sign Ibrahimovic for €8 million, with the deadline set for mid-June. However, Bayern Munich would retain a counter-buyback clause set at €25 million, along with a 20% share on any future resale. The German giants still believe in the player’s long-term potential, evident from Julian Nagelsmann’s decision to integrate him into Bayern’s first team at just 16 years old. He later made his Bundesliga debut on February 11, 2023.
Lazio provide a favorable environment for Ibrahimovic’s growth, offering him more time and less pressure compared to the intense expectations at Bayern Munich. If he develops into a top-level player, Lotito would have a highly valuable asset, both in terms of sporting contribution and potential resale value.
With all factors aligning, Lazio seem poised to finalize the deal, securing a young talent who could play a significant role in the club’s future.
