From The 2025–26 Season Onward, Lazio Will No Longer Hold Their Pre‑season Training Camp In Auronzo Di Cadore

March 27, 2025

After decades of pre‑season training beneath the Dolomites, Lazio have decided not to renew their option on Auronzo di Cadore and will instead conduct all summer preparations at their Formello base beginning this July. The club confirmed to Il Messaggero that it will forgo the €250,000 retreat fee and let the March 31 deadline lapse, the same day the Biancoceleste host Torino in Serie A.

Discussions over the future of Lazio’s summer camp have stretched back to January, when local officials in Auronzo appealed to president Claudio Lotito to honour existing agreements amid criticism over mixed messages from the municipality. By mid‑February, uncertainty persisted as Lazio weighed whether to return to the mountain resort or remain at Formello.

This week’s decision finalises the club’s move toward greater logistical efficiency — and frees resources for a planned overseas training tour ahead of the 2025‑26 campaign. The choice marks the end of a longstanding tradition under the Tre Cime di Lavaredo and underscores Lazio’s shift toward consolidating their pre‑season programme at the club’s Rome headquarters.
