Castellanos' Injury Returns, Forcing Him Out Of Vital Matches

Lazio have provided an update on Taty Castellanos’ condition, revealing that the Argentine striker will remain sidelined for at least a few more weeks.

Castellanos had only recently rejoined the squad after missing a month due to a previous injury, but he wasn’t fit enough to participate in the 5-0 loss to Bologna. Unfortunately, during his return to training, he suffered another muscle issue.

Medical tests revealed there is no tear in the soleus muscle of his left leg, just a minor strain. According to Sky Sport Italia, recovery from such an injury typically takes about two weeks. However, Castellanos’ extended time on the sidelines has delayed his full return to match fitness, posing a setback for Lazio.

The Argentine has been unavailable since February 15 due to an adductor injury and hasn’t featured since. Despite the injuries, Castellanos has been a vital figure for Lazio this season, recording 12 goals and eight assists across 31 matches. His presence has been especially crucial in helping the club reach the Europa League quarter-finals.

In his absence, coach Marco Baroni will have to depend on alternative attacking options for the upcoming fixtures. Lazio will be eager to see Castellanos make a full recovery soon as they enter a pivotal stage of the season.
