[Official] Castrovilli's New Chapter: Lazio's Midfielder Joins Monza On Loan

Lazio midfielder Gaetano Castrovilli has officially been loaned to Monza until the end of the season. The Italian player, who has seen limited playing time under Marco Baroni, was one of the sidelined figures in the squad.

During the January transfer window, Lazio completed the loan move for the 27-year-old, who joined the capital club last summer on a free transfer after Fiorentina released him due to injuries over the past two seasons.

While the Euro 2020 champions hope to revive his career, Castrovilli has struggled to secure regular minutes, accumulating only 154 minutes in all competitions this season for Baroni's side.

With both parties agreeing to a parting of ways in January, the midfielder had been linked with Udinese and Hellas Verona in recent weeks. Ultimately, Monza sealed the deal, driven by their urgent need to escape the relegation zone as they currently sit at the bottom of Serie A.

Lazio confirmed the transfer on their official website, stating that Castrovilli has joined the club on a temporary deal until the season's end:

"SS Lazio announces that it has temporarily transferred the sporting rights of footballer Gaetano Castrovilli to AC Monza."

It remains to be seen whether the Bari academy product will get another chance to prove his worth in Italy's top flight, especially with his contract at Lazio extending until June 2027. His future success will largely depend on his performances at the U-Power Stadium, his ability to consistently perform, and his capacity to stay injury-free.
