Lazio Set Transfer Conditions For Dele-Bashiru As Premier League Interest Mounts
Lazio midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has recently been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal and Brighton emerging as the leading suitors. However, the Italian capital club appear to be setting a condition before considering his departure.
Signed for €5.6 million from Hatayspor last summer, the Nigerian midfielder has yet to cement a regular spot in the starting lineup, even though coach Marco Baroni has repeatedly praised the 24-year-old’s growing influence in the midfield. A product of the Manchester City academy who also featured for Sheffield Wednesday, Dele-Bashiru has caught the eye of several Premier League clubs in recent days.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, while both Arsenal and Brighton have shown interest, Lazio are reluctant to let him go as they believe his potential is far from fully realized. The club’s transfer strategy will also be influenced by their Champions League qualification; if Lazio fail to secure a spot, they might be more open to offers for key players.
Meanwhile, Baroni’s side currently sit fifth in Serie A, trailing Juventus and Atalanta, with Fiorentina, Milan and Bologna in close pursuit. Additionally, following a disappointing midweek in Europe, Serie A has lost its second-place ranking in the UEFA coefficient behind La Liga, meaning Italian clubs must step up their performance if they hope to secure five Champions League spots next season.
