Lazio Finalized Their Player Registration For Both Serie A And The Europa League, Excluding Pellegrini From Both Rosters

The January transfer window has now closed. Amidst numerous rumors, Lazio finalized their winter transfer dealings by making three new signings. In order, they first secured Ibrahimovic on a loan deal that includes options to buy and counter-buy, followed by the permanent acquisitions of Belahyane and Provstgaard. Additionally, the club completed the sales of Castrovilli and Akpa Akpro, both of whom moved to Monza.

With the transfer window now shut, Lazio must register their players for both Serie A and the Europa League.

Following the announcement of their Serie A roster, Lazio also released the UEFA list for their Europa League campaign, which resumes at the round of 16. Notably, players such as Pellegrini, Basic, and the January signings—Belahyane, Provstgaard, and Ibrahimovic—are missing from this list, while Hysaj is included instead.

In other words, now Luca Pellegrini has been left off both the Serie A and Europa League lists that Lazio recently unveiled. As a result, unless there is a change in the squad by March 31, the full-back will be ineligible for official matches. However, he remains eligible to participate in the Coppa Italia, where no such restrictions apply and all registered players may take the field. For example, on December 5 during the Lazio–Napoli round of 16 match, Hysaj—who at that time was not included in any official list—was fielded from the start. The same situation could occur for Pellegrini in Lazio’s upcoming quarterfinal match against Inter in the Coppa Italia on February 25, a benefit that would also extend to Baroni.
