[Coppa Italia] Inter - Lazio = 2 - 0


Inter Milan secured a spot in the Coppa Italia semifinals after defeating Lazio 2-0. The match, held at the Giuseppe Meazza, saw the Nerazzurri triumph thanks to goals from Marko Arnautovic and Hakan Calhanoglu, who converted a penalty.


With this victory, Inter set up a semifinal clash against their city rivals, AC Milan, with the first leg scheduled for April 2.


Inter started the game with an attacking approach, while Lazio adopted a more cautious strategy, waiting for counterattacking opportunities.


Despite their defensive stance, Lazio managed to create chances, including a threatening shot by Isaksen in the 34th minute, which was blocked by Martinez.


Inter broke the deadlock in the 39th minute. Dimarco’s corner kick was initially cleared by Zaccagni, but the ball fell to Arnautovic, who fired a volley to make it 1-0.


Lazio responded by opening up their game but failed to create any major threats before halftime.


In the second half, Lazio increased their attacking intensity and came close to scoring in the 59th minute when Zaccagni met Lazzari’s cross with an acrobatic effort, only for Martinez to make another crucial save.


Inter doubled their lead in the 77th minute after the referee awarded a penalty for Gigot’s foul on Correa. Hakan Calhanoglu confidently placed the spot-kick into the left side of the net, sealing a 2-0 victory for Inter.


The Nerazzurri held on to their advantage and ensured their place in the next round, eliminating Lazio from the competition.
