Belahyane Shines On Lazio Debut Despite Frustrating Draw Against Venezia

Lazio’s visit to Venezia ended in disappointment as they were held to a goalless draw, leaving the Biancoceleste frustrated over a missed opportunity to secure three vital points. While the result was underwhelming, the match provided a chance to evaluate new arrivals, including Reda Belahyane, who made his debut in Lazio colors.

The French-Moroccan midfielder was introduced in the 40th minute, replacing the injured Dele-Bashiru. His entry came at a crucial moment, as Lazio struggled to break down Venezia’s resistance. Despite the pressure, Belahyane quickly adapted to the game, showcasing his confidence and commitment to contributing to the team.

His performance was a bright spot for Lazio, with impressive statistics to back it up. In 49 minutes on the field, the former Hellas Verona player completed 94% of his passes (31 out of 33), won three out of five ground duels, recorded one defensive clearance, delivered four key passes into the opposition’s area, and successfully completed two out of three dribble attempts.

Although Lazio left Venice with just a point, Belahyane’s promising display offered a silver lining, hinting at his potential to play a bigger role in the team moving forward.
