Casadei Prefers A Return To Italy With Lazio Amid Ongoing Chelsea Talks

Lazio are reportedly close to signing Cesare Casadei from Chelsea after submitting a formal bid of €13 million, as reported by Sportitalia. The young Italian midfielder is said to favor a move to the capital club over Torino, who were also keen on acquiring him.

Casadei, who recently turned 22, has struggled to secure regular playing time at Chelsea. The midfielder and his agent are reportedly eager for a return to Serie A, where he developed his skills in Inter Milan's academy during his formative years.

Torino initially led the race to sign Casadei, but Lazio quickly stepped in after missing out on Jacopo Fazzini from Empoli. Their offer is reportedly more appealing to both Chelsea and the player.

Having joined Chelsea in 2022 for €14.86 million plus potential bonuses of up to €5 million, Casadei spent time on loan at Reading and Leicester City before returning to Stamford Bridge this season. However, he has only made six appearances for the Blues.

Transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà has stated that Lazio are aiming to finalize the deal soon. Casadei is reportedly excited about wearing the Biancoceleste jersey and returning to Serie A to continue his career.

For Lazio, this transfer represents a strategic move to reinforce their midfield following their failure to sign Fazzini. With his experience in English football and undeniable potential, Casadei is expected to make a significant impact as the club seeks to improve its performances in both domestic and European competitions.
