[Serie A] Parma - Lazio = 3 - 1

Parma halted Lazio's winning run in the 14th round of the Italian League on Sunday, December 1, 2024. The Gialloblu delivered a surprising 3-1 triumph against their visitors. Three different players contributed to Parma's impressive victory: Dennis Man, Anas Haj Mohamed, and Enrico Del Prato. Lazio, on the other hand, managed only a single goal through Taty Castellanos.  

This win propelled Parma to 11th place in the standings, while Lazio missed the opportunity to leapfrog Atalanta into fourth, remaining in fifth place.  

Parma’s coach, Fabio Pecchia, had to rely on several young players due to injuries among his senior squad. Remarkably, the young talents rose to the occasion, displaying confidence and high energy throughout the match.  

The game began with drama as Lazio scored just two minutes in, but the goal was disallowed by the referee. Parma capitalized soon after, with Dennis Man finding the net in the 6th minute to give the hosts an early lead.  

Lazio’s Zaccagni found the back of the net later in the half, but once again, the goal was ruled out for offside. The first half ended with Parma maintaining their slim 1-0 advantage.  

In the second half, Lazio pressed aggressively for an equalizer but struggled to breach Parma’s solid defense. Parma then doubled their lead in the 53rd minute, taking advantage of a defensive error by Mario Gila. Anas Haj Mohamed unleashed a brilliant curling shot that beat Lazio’s goalkeeper, Ivan Provedel.  

Lazio managed to reduce the deficit in the 81st minute when Taty Castellanos capitalized on a Parma defensive mistake, bringing the score to 2-1. However, Parma sealed their victory in injury time when Enrico Del Prato, left unmarked, scored to make it 3-1.  

The final whistle confirmed a memorable win for Parma, boosting their confidence as they aim to climb higher in the league standings.
