[Serie A] Napoli - Lazio = 0 - 1
Napoli suffered their third defeat of the season in the 15th round of the Italian Serie A. Playing at their home ground, the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, Antonio Conte's squad fell 0-1 to Lazio.
The match was decided by Gustav Isaksen's lone goal in the 79th minute, leaving Napoli unable to avenge their previous loss to Lazio. Just four days earlier, Conte’s team had been defeated 1-3 by the Aquile in the Coppa Italia Round of 16 at the Olimpico Stadium.
The match kicked off at a high tempo, with intense running and determination from both sides. The first 45 minutes were evenly matched, with nearly identical ball possession and an equal number of shots on target. The second half mirrored the first in intensity, but Lazio appeared more focused and organized than Conte's Napoli. The decisive moment came through a brilliant move at 79th minutes, capped off by an extraordinary strike from Isaksen that found the top of the net.
This latest setback prevented Napoli from overtaking Atalanta at the top of the standings. They remain in second place with 32 points, two behind leaders Atalanta.
Meanwhile, Lazio’s victory moved them into fifth place in Serie A, with 31 points from 15 matches. They trail Inter Milan and Fiorentina, who occupy third and fourth spots, only on goal difference.
