[Official] Nesta Has Left Monza Following A String Of Disappointing Results

Italian Serie A’s bottom-placed club, AC Monza, have officially parted ways with head coach Alessandro Nesta.

The decision to dismiss Nesta came after Monza suffered a 1-2 defeat against Juventus in their 17th league match at the U-Power Stadium.

The club announced the termination of Nesta's contract through an official statement released on Monday (December 23) afternoon.

"AC Monza announces that Alessandro Nesta has been relieved of his duties as first team coach," read the statement. "The club extends its gratitude for his efforts and wishes him the best in his future endeavors."

Nesta had been appointed as Monza's head coach on June 12, 2024, with a contract lasting until 2025 and an option for extension if the team avoided relegation. However, despite his legendary status in Italian football, Nesta failed to bring the desired turnaround.

Currently, Monza sits at the bottom of the Serie A standings with just 10 points from 17 matches, prompting the club to act swiftly in search of solutions.

To address the crisis, Monza has named Salvatore Bochetti as the new head coach, immediately replacing Nesta. The club hopes this leadership change will inject fresh motivation into the team as they fight to salvage their season.
