Lazio Collaborate With Croce Rossa Italiana To Introduce First Aid Training For On-Field Emergencies

Following the events on Sunday, December 1, at the "Artemio Franchi" Stadium in Florence during the match between Fiorentina and Inter—where footballer Edoardo Bove suffered cardiac arrest—the Italian Red Cross and S.S. Lazio have partnered to introduce a "First Aid" training program. Initially aimed at Lazio's first-team players and staff, the program will later extend to all personnel working at the Formello Sports Centre.

Lazio President Claudio Lotito commented on the initiative, saying, "We have always supported such efforts. In the past, we’ve promoted first aid awareness through various activities. After the incident involving Bove—whom I wish a speedy recovery—we felt a renewed responsibility to emphasize this crucial issue. We encourage our players to actively participate in first aid training, as this knowledge can save lives. They should set an example by highlighting the importance of first aid and spreading awareness."

Rosario Valastro, President of the Italian Red Cross, also praised the collaboration, underscoring the critical role of first aid in both sports and everyday life. "First aid training is indispensable in sports and daily activities. A country's level of development is reflected in its ability to respond effectively to emergencies. Being prepared can save lives.
