Lazio Close To Securing Empoli Midfielder Jacopo Fazzini

Lazio are reportedly on the verge of signing Empoli midfielder Jacopo Fazzini, who has also attracted interest from Napoli and Fiorentina. However, Marco Baroni's team appear to be in pole position to finalize the deal during the January transfer window.

As reported by Sky Sport Italia, Lazio are nearing an agreement on a two-season loan deal with an option to buy for €15 million. This would secure the services of Fazzini, a player who has been linked with both Napoli and Fiorentina.

The Biancoceleste are in the market for a new midfielder following the extended injury absence of Matias Vecino and the early termination of Gaetano Castrovilli’s contract, expected in January. Fazzini has emerged as their top target, with a proposed 18-month loan arrangement and a €15 million purchase option available in June 2026.

Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio reported that negotiations between Lazio and Empoli are progressing, with an agreement likely to be finalized next week. Fazzini, who turns 22 in March, is a regular member of Italy's U-21 squad and a product of Empoli’s academy.

Although injuries have limited his appearances this season—just 10 matches in Serie A and the Coppa Italia, with two goals—Fazzini’s potential has kept him on the radar of top clubs. While Napoli and Fiorentina have shown interest, Lazio seems poised to win the race for the talented midfielder.
