Former Spain international Pedro Rodriguez has solidified his role as a key player for Lazio under coach Marco Baroni. At 37, the winger continues to defy age, showcasing top performances in goals and assists early this season. Reflecting on his career, Pedro expressed gratitude to AS Roma for transferring him to Lazio after just one season with their club.

In a recent interview with Il Messaggero, Pedro spoke about his move to Lazio in 2021, a transfer that sparked significant attention. While he avoided delving into his time at Roma or his relationship with José Mourinho, Pedro openly appreciated the transfer.

"That’s in the past," he said. "The fact is they made the best decision at the time, and I thank them for sending me to Lazio, the first team in the capital."

Pedro also shared his admiration for Serie A, calling it a highly competitive and attractive league. Lazio fans have warmly embraced him, celebrating his contributions since joining the Biancoceleste.

Reflecting on his career, he remarked:

"I feel honored and have no complaints. I never imagined winning 25 titles, including the Champions League and the World Cup."

Looking ahead, Pedro revealed his ambitions with Lazio:

"I want to win something here. I've won trophies in every season of my career except in Italy. Lazio is a historic club with a legacy comparable to Chelsea or Barcelona."

Despite his drive to win, Pedro emphasized his enjoyment of the game and his plans to stay with Lazio for now.

"I want to remain here until the end of the season, and then we’ll see."

Pedro also discussed his evolving role within the team:

"This year, my role is more important. I’m the oldest in the squad, but I try to contribute as much as everyone else. I feel comfortable supporting the younger players—that’s my responsibility."
