Lazio's Rising Primavera Stars Aiming To Shape The Club's Future

SS Lazio consistently makes an impact with their bold decisions each season. Facing challenges with player registration for both Serie A and the Europa League in the 2024/2025 campaign, the team is turning to the young talents they’ve nurtured in their Primavera academy. Let’s explore these promising prospects, who are also striving to shape Lazio’s future.

1. Filipe Bordon

Filipe Bordon joined Lazio’s academy in 2023 after honing his skills in Brazil at the Ferroviária academy. His standout performances as a center-back quickly caught the attention of Lazio’s scouting team. Since moving to Italy, Bordon has continued to excel, earning a spot in Lazio’s U-19 team for the 2023/2024 Primavera 1 season.

Known for his versatility, Bordon can also play as a defensive midfielder. This versatility earned him a promotion to the senior squad for 2024/2025 under coach Marco Baroni. However, as of the 11th matchday, the 19-year-old has yet to debut in Serie A. Competing for playing time with seasoned defenders like Alessio Romagnoli and Patric, Bordon faces a challenging road ahead. Still, his potential suggests he could become a key player for Lazio in the future.

2. Cristo Muñoz

Cristo Muñoz, a graduate of FC Barcelona's renowned La Masia academy, joined Lazio in the summer of 2024. Despite showing promise as a playmaker with excellent passing and chance-creation skills, Muñoz struggled to secure a spot in Barcelona's first team. His decision to leave the Catalan club led him to Lazio, where he has the opportunity to develop further.

Although part of the senior squad for the 2024/2025 Serie A season, Muñoz has primarily featured for Lazio’s U-19 team in the Primavera. Contracted until July 2027, the 19-year-old has time to grow and potentially break into the first team. His journey reflects Lazio’s commitment to nurturing young talent.

3. Davide Renzetti

A homegrown talent, Davide Renzetti has been with Lazio’s academy since childhood. At just 18 years old, he earned a place in the senior squad, marking him as a rising star in the club’s ranks. Standing at 194 cm, Renzetti is touted as Lazio’s future goalkeeper.

In the 2023/2024 Primavera season, his performances were impressive enough to catch coach Marco Baroni’s eye, leading to his promotion as the team’s fourth-choice goalkeeper for 2024/2025. While his chances of appearing in Serie A are limited, Renzetti has already made 10 appearances for the U-19 team this season, recording two clean sheets. Consistency will be key for the young keeper to secure a debut with the senior team.

Although none of these three prodigies have yet featured in Serie A, their presence underscores Lazio’s strong future. Known for developing young talent, the Biancoceleste seem well-positioned to remain a competitive force in Italian football.
