Lazio’s Nuno Tavares Suffers Knee Injury, Doubtful For Bologna Clash

Troubling news has emerged from Portugal concerning Lazio’s Nuno Tavares. The left-back missed his national team’s recent match against Croatia, which ended in a 1-1 draw, due to an injury sustained during training.

Tavares, who recently made his senior debut for Portugal against Poland, is reportedly dealing with a knee issue. Specifically, he is experiencing myalgia—muscle pain—affecting his knee. This has raised concerns within Lazio’s camp about his availability.

The defender is expected to return to Formello soon for medical evaluations to determine the extent of the injury. Lazio fans and coach Marco Baroni will be hoping for positive news, as losing Tavares, arguably one of the best full-backs in Serie A, would be a significant setback. His absence could complicate preparations for Sunday night's match against Bologna.
