Lazio Lock Down Rovella With €50 Million Release Clause Effective Next June

There’s no denying that Marco Baroni’s Lazio has emerged as one of the standout teams in Italy and Europe this year. Among their many achievements, two milestones stand out: 25 points and fifth place in Serie A, and 12 points securing first place in their Europa League group. Lazio fans are eagerly anticipating the return of matches after the international break to continue supporting the team’s pursuit of their goals this season.

A key figure in this success is midfielder Nicolò Rovella, who recently earned his first call-up to the Italian national team—a testament to his outstanding performances at Lazio over the past two years.

Rovella joined Lazio on a two-year loan from Juventus in June 2023, set to conclude in June 2025. The Biancoceleste will make his move permanent for €17 million. And Lazio have taken measures to secure Rovella’s future at the club by including a robust €50 million release clause in the agreement, which will become active next June after his loan concluded. This clause underscores the high value the club places on the midfielder, who has become increasingly pivotal under Baroni’s leadership.

Originally brought in at Maurizio Sarri’s request, Rovella quickly proved himself as one of Italy’s top midfield talents. This season, Baroni has given him greater freedom on the pitch, allowing him to thrive as a playmaker unburdened by rigid tactical constraints. What sets Rovella apart is not only his technical prowess, which earned him a national team call-up, but also his deep connection to Lazio.

Rovella has consistently expressed his love for the club—their colors, chants, stadium, and fans—through social media, interviews, and public statements. This strong bond could be a decisive factor in keeping him in the capital, solidifying his role as a cornerstone of Lazio’s future.
