Baroni: "We Played Solidly Today. Managing This Match Against Monza Wasn’t Easy. But Our Team Played Maturely, Showing Skill And Control. The Team Are Enthusiastic, And We Want To Keep That Momentum."

Lazio continue to thrill their fans with another victory, this time winning 1-0 at the U-Power Stadium thanks to an exceptional goal by Mattia Zaccagni against Turati.

After the match, Marco Baroni shared his thoughts: "We’re always driven by clear goals; we want to perform well. These goals don’t shift during the game. We played solidly today. Managing this match against Monza wasn’t easy—they’ve challenged teams like Atalanta and Milan. But our team played maturely, showing skill and control. Games can get tough if you don’t finish them off, and we had two or three solid chances with Dia and Taty. But I trust the players’ dedication and responsibility to lead this team."

On Formation and Strategy

Baroni explained the 4-3-3 formation choice: "It’s about controlling possession. Our approach doesn’t change; we needed to keep the ball in our half to maintain control. Having a midfielder cover their two central players helped us attack with two forwards and full-backs. We recovered a lot of balls, proving Lazio’s strength. Monza will be tough for any team. I’ve checked the standings; the team are enthusiastic, and we want to keep that momentum. Winning isn’t guaranteed, but we must maintain our performance."

On Pedro

"Pedro is an incredible player and a great person. He’s committed to the team and has a strong sense of belonging. I’ve been lucky to work with remarkable players, and Pedro is one of them. We’ll face challenges, but with his qualities, he’ll help us overcome them. Our match in Turin taught us a lot."

On Rovella’s National Team Call-Up

"Rovella is outstanding; he can play both short and long and adapt to different roles. He and Guendouzi are versatile midfielders, while Vecino is more of an attacking midfielder with strong field awareness. I’m fortunate to have three high-caliber players, and we’re working on developing Dele-Bashiru too. We’re thrilled for Nicolò’s call-up; it’s an individual achievement, but one that the whole team shares pride in."
