Baroni Matches Lazio's Historic Start With Dominant Win Over Bologna

Lazio maintained their impressive momentum with a decisive 3-0 win against Bologna in Serie A, making a triumphant return after the international break. Braving the chilly conditions at the Olimpico and overcoming minor setbacks, Baroni's squad showcased resilience and character. With this victory, Lazio stays in step with the league's top contenders, remaining just one point behind leaders Napoli.

The win also set a notable milestone for coach Marco Baroni. According to OptaAnalyst, Baroni’s nine victories in the first 13 matches of the season match Lazio’s best winning start from the 2017/2018 season under Simone Inzaghi. During that period, Lucas Leiva and his teammates achieved nine consecutive wins across all competitions.  

Baroni didn’t just equal Inzaghi’s record. The three points from the Bologna match brought Lazio’s tally to 28 points from 13 Serie A games, matching Roberto Mancini’s debut season record as Lazio coach in 2002/2003, when his team also amassed 28 points at this stage.
