Lazzari Out For A Month With Thigh Injury, Dealing Lazio A Defensive Blow
Lazio are facing a new injury setback with Manuel Lazzari, who was forced to leave the field in the first half of the match against Empoli due to an issue with the rectus femoris muscle in his left thigh. Dr. Rodia, speaking after the match, explained: "He experienced a strain in the rectus femoris during a stretch, and we stopped him as a precaution. He will undergo further tests." The hope is that the injury was caught early enough to prevent it from worsening.
However, after tests at Villa Mafalda, the news is not good: Lazzari has sustained a medium-grade muscle injury that will keep him sidelined for at least a month. This diagnosis is a concern for Lazio, especially for coach Marco Baroni, as the right-back will miss the next four games. The team is hopeful that he might return in time for the match against Cagliari at the Olimpico on November 4.
Lazzari’s absence means he will be out for key matches against Juventus, Twente, Genoa, and Como. The former SPAL player has been a consistent starter in all seven of Lazio’s matches this season, while his backup, Adam MaruÅ¡ić, has been featuring in the Europa League.
