Lazio's Record €38 Million Profit Set New Benchmark In Serie A Finances

October 10, 2024

Lazio have reportedly achieved the highest profit in the club's history, while many other teams are dealing with rising debts and losses. The club from Italy’s capital reported a profit of €38 million.

During the 2022/23 financial reports for Serie A, numerous clubs revealed efforts to address poor financial outcomes. In contrast, Lazio recorded a profit of €38.5 million, which came from player sales, cost-cutting measures, and their participation in the Supercoppa Italiana.

This marks Lazio's most successful financial year, surpassing the previous record of €37 million in the 2017/18 season. According to Calcio e Finanza, this is the highest profit ever reported by a Serie A team and ranks Lazio sixth among the most profitable clubs in history.

Lazio trail only Juventus, who made €42.6 million in the 2016/17 season, Fiorentina with €46.8 million in 2021/22, and Atalanta with €51.7 million in 2020. Napoli holds the record for the highest profit in Italian football history, earning €66.6 million in 2016/17 and €79.7 million after winning the Scudetto in 2022/23.

Lazio's success demonstrates how effective financial discipline and a strategic transfer policy can lead to substantial results. The club is now well-positioned to grow further, both on the field and financially, as they prepare for future challenges in Serie A.

This financial strength also enables Lazio to invest in improving their squad, stay competitive, and strive for greater success in both domestic and European competitions.
