Lazio May Extend Pedro's Contract If He Can Maintain His Impressive Performances That Have Won Over The Fans
Lazio are reportedly preparing a new contract offer for veteran Spanish winger Pedro Rodriguez, who has delivered standout performances early in the 2024/25 season. Despite being 37, he remains a key player for coach Marco Baroni in the Italian capital.
Following his impressive displays, Pedro is said to be in talks for a contract extension, even as he approaches his 38th birthday next summer. The former Spain international, who spent the bulk of his career at Barcelona and later five years at Chelsea, joined Lazio in 2020 after a year at Roma.
Since moving to Lazio, Pedro has consistently impressed. His current contract runs until the end of this season, but he has already contributed two goals and two assists in five matches across Serie A and the Europa League.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Lazio have offered Pedro a new deal extending until June 2026, which would keep him at the club until he turns 38 in July 2025.
While receiving a special award at his home in Tenerife, Pedro expressed his enjoyment of his time with Lazio, noting how the team’s DJ plays the song ‘Pedro’ by Raffaella Carra every time he scores a goal.
