Baroni: "No Matter The Opponent Or Location, The Team Must Always Play With Courage And Joy. When We Do That, This Team Can Play Beautiful Football With Our Skilled Attackers."
Lazio coach Marco Baroni expressed his joy over his team's bold and energetic performance in their 4-1 Europa League victory against OGC Nice at the Stadio Olimpico.
The win solidified Lazio's flawless record in European competition this season, building on their 3-0 triumph over Dynamo Kyiv in the opening match.
Baroni, who is experiencing his first UEFA competition as a coach, has made an impressive debut in Europe with Lazio. He commended his players for their strong mindset and praised those who haven't had many chances to play this season.
"The team performed really well. It wasn’t an easy game, but they had the right mentality, and I got an important response from the players who haven't seen much action so far this season," Baroni told Sky Sport Italia.
What Baroni appreciated most was the bravery his players showed on the pitch. For him, courage and joy in playing are crucial to maintaining Lazio's consistency.
Despite being pleased with the result, Baroni emphasized that there is still room for growth within the squad.
"No matter the opponent or location, the team must always play with courage and joy," Baroni insisted. "This was a positive moment, and we kept our focus throughout."
He also pointed to the hard work of the attacking unit as a decisive factor in the win.
"We have a lot of talented forwards, and they must work hard to maintain the tempo. Matches like this require sacrifice," Baroni explained. "When we do that, this team can play beautiful football with our skilled attackers."
