[Official] Lazio's Europa League Schedule Under The New Format

Lazio are gearing up to embark on their UEFA Europa League journey under the new format introduced this season. Marco Baroni's squad will compete against eight different teams in the first round of the league-stage model, with the goal of advancing to the round of 16. The complete schedule for the first round of matches was released on Saturday (08/31).

Lazio have been informed of their eight opponents in the 2024/25 UEL league stage, with the match schedule now finalized. The Aquile will kick off their Europa League campaign with an away game against Dynamo Kyiv on September 25 at the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg, Germany—a venue chosen due to the ongoing situation in Ukraine. Their first home match is set for October 3 against Nice at the Stadio Olimpico.

On October 24, Lazio will travel to the Netherlands to face Twente, followed by a key home game against Porto on November 7. The Biancoceleste will then host Ludogorets on November 28 before heading back to the Netherlands to take on Ajax in Amsterdam on December 12.

The final two group stage matches will occur in the new year, with a home game against Real Sociedad on January 23 and an away match against Sporting Braga in Portugal on January 30.

This diverse schedule offers Lazio a mix of opponents from across Europe. The matches against Porto and Ajax are seen as particularly intriguing, while the clash with Real Sociedad could be decisive in this phase.

As the capital's eagles navigate this new format, consistency over the eight matches will be crucial to securing a strong position in the league standings. Finishing at the top of the group guarantees direct qualification to the knockout stages, making every point vital in this competitive Europa League campaign.
