Fabiani: "What Angers Me Is How Some People Can Manipulate The Fans. I Don’t Agree With This Kind Of Behavior, And It Deeply Affects Me."

Lazio sporting director Angelo Fabiani has responded to former midfielder Luis Alberto's critical remarks following his move to Qatar last summer.

Luis Alberto, who played for Lazio for eight years, explained his decision to leave, citing dissatisfaction with the current management. He praised the team atmosphere during Simone Inzaghi's tenure as coach and former sporting director Igli Tare but said things changed after their departures. He criticized the current leadership, stating, "Lazio is a special club, but not because of the people running it."

Fabiani did not take these comments lightly, and the situation escalated quickly. According to TuttomercatoWeb, Fabiani called Alberto's remarks "stupid" and "evil."

"There’s a risk of stooping to the same level as those who say stupid and malicious things," Fabiani remarked. "These people suffer from a hatred syndrome, feeling either wronged or entitled, so I’ll leave it at that."

He added that he was in a bad mood due to the tragic death of Novara’s sporting director, Christian Arguiro, and could not delve further into the issue.

Fabiani also expressed concern that such comments could negatively influence Lazio's supporters. "What angers me is how some people can manipulate the fans. I don’t agree with this kind of behavior, and it deeply affects me. Let’s leave it at that, as if we’ve managed to calm the King’s goalkeeper once more," he concluded.

Luis Alberto's final months at Lazio, especially under coach Igor Tudor, were marked by controversy, and he eventually left for Al-Duhail last summer.
