Baroni: "We Understand The Risks Of Our Style Of Play, And The Players Must Be Able To Handle That. We Need To Be Aggressive And Attack."

Lazio played to a 2-2 draw against AC Milan in their Serie A match on Saturday evening (31/08) at the Stadio Olimpico. Coach Marco Baroni suggested that his team needs to be more aggressive and push forward in attack.

Lazio initially trailed after Strahinja Pavlovic scored with a header for AC Milan. However, they quickly equalized through Taty Castellanos, who capitalized on a precise pass from Nuno Tavares. Boulaye Dia then turned the game around, scoring from another Tavares assist before Milan's Rafael Leao leveled the match at 2-2.

"The team put in an exceptional performance in the second half. We worked hard, though we weren't at our best in the first half, and it took some time for the new players to settle in," Baroni told DAZN.

"We need to improve in our aggressive pressing and in managing transitions, but Milan had the edge in terms of physicality and speed. We understand the risks of our style of play, and the players must be able to handle that."

Baroni made four changes from the team that lost 2-1 to Udinese the previous week, introducing new forwards Dia and Loum Tchaouna, along with full-backs Nuno Tavares and Manuel Lazzari.

"With four attackers, I wanted to send a message, and I believe it was understood. We take risks, but we must find the right balance. We need to be aggressive and attack. Possession should not just be for its own sake; it should lead to creating chances, and the key is to get players into the box. That's where we need to improve."
