Baroni: "I'm Pleased With How The Team Handled The Match. I Asked Them To Play With Desire And Continually Push For Goals. The First Goal Conceded Is On Me Because We Were A Bit Too Open, But We Made Adjustments At Halftime."

Dia and Castellanos secured a crucial win and three points for Lazio, who triumphed over Verona on Serie A's fourth matchday at the Stadio Olimpico. In the post-match press conference, Baroni shared his thoughts:

"First of all, I remind the team that everyone plays a role here. It's unrealistic to compete in all tournaments without rotating players. We train everyone, and those who came on performed well, which is key for us. I'm pleased with how the team handled the match. I asked them to play with desire and continually push for goals. We did that, although we lost a bit of balance, which is normal when facing teams like Verona that sit deep. We lost possession a few times, but overall, the team did a good job."

"Zaccagni is our captain, and he has exceptional talent. He needs to reach his best form. He's used to playing wide, but now he moves inside, and it's been a game-changer. He and Lazzari were excellent. The team pushed hard, and Verona couldn’t create much offensively because we didn't allow them to. There are signs of positive growth. As for Castellanos, he will undergo tests tomorrow. I don’t think it’s serious, but he felt something, probably due to the toll of international games and travel. Hopefully, it’s nothing major."

"We're building on enthusiasm, and this team needs to gain momentum. There are promising young players here. Some experienced figures who made history have left, so we need to focus on team development, and the players are doing just that. The first goal conceded is on me because we were a bit too open, but we made adjustments at halftime. The team managed the game with personality, and right now, I'd rather they show the courage to shoot and stay dangerous because I know we're a threat going forward. We'll review mistakes, but what's important is that the team is engaged and responsive."

"Verona? Last year was tough, but together we achieved something significant. I felt it was time for a change, and then my big opportunity came. I'm not just happy, I'm thrilled. I lose sleep because I want to give everything to this team. It’s my chance, but the players also have the potential to achieve something important."

"Does Verona have more quality now? I'm so focused on my team, but I know Verona has had great performances and is in good shape. I know the players, and I believe they’ll have a strong season, which makes our victory today even more valuable."

"We missed the chance to close out the game, and when you leave a narrow margin, there's always risk. Last season, the team ranked 15th in shots on goal, so I've tried to make adjustments. The team is responding well, but it's only possible if we have the resources. Otherwise, it’s a challenge."
