Two Premier League Clubs Eye Lazio's Mandas: €20 Million Offer Could Trigger Major Transfer Move
The Lazio transfer market could experience a sudden shake-up. According to Il Corriere dello Sport, a €20 million offer is expected from the Premier League for Christos Mandas. Both Wolverhampton and Southampton are reportedly interested, as they are searching for a new first-choice goalkeeper. These are options worth considering.
It's likely that the Biancoceleste had discussions with Southampton last Wednesday, prior to their friendly match (which ended 1-1). Carlos Alcaraz, a 21-year-old Argentine midfielder, may have also been part of the talks. Whether Lazio will actually receive the financial proposal remains to be seen.
If Mandas is sold, the capital gain would be significant, as the Greek goalkeeper was signed last summer for just €900,000 from Ofi Crete. Mandas is under contract with Lazio until 2028 with a relatively low salary. The issue of his adaptation hasn't been fully addressed yet, which could be a sign that the 2001-born player might leave the club as early as this season.
