Folorunsho Has Agreed To Join Lazio, But Lazio Still Need To Finalize Terms With Napoli

Lazio are closing in on the signing of Boulaye Dia and then plans to pursue Michael Folorunsho, but the timeline is clear. Folorunsho has been identified as the key addition to strengthen Baroni's midfield, though the deal won't be finalized immediately. On Tuesday, an initial meeting took place between Lazio's president, Lotito, and Folorunsho's agent, Mario Giuffredi, to discuss the player's contract and the strategy to secure Napoli's approval. Folorunsho is eager to join Lazio, and there are no issues regarding his agreement with the club. The former Bari and Verona player would earn €1.2 million per season in Rome, matching his current salary at Napoli after his recent contract extension until 2029. The challenge now is reaching an agreement with Napoli's president, De Laurentiis, who values Folorunsho at €12 million. Lazio hopes to finalize the deal using a similar structure to the Rovella and Pellegrini transfers: a one-year dry loan followed by a loan with an obligation to buy.

Napoli may consider this approach if Lazio increases their financial offer, potentially by adding achievable bonuses. If Lazio sticks to the €12 million valuation, they’ll need to propose a different arrangement. As a result, the negotiations are expected to continue beyond the weekend, with Lazio working on player sales to create space in the squad and generate funds. Folorunsho is eager to join, and his agent is handling the negotiations, with strong relations between Lazio and Giuffredi, especially after Zaccagni's renewal. While Folorunsho is keen to make the move, patience is required as Lotito is in no rush and is looking to secure the deal on his terms, leveraging Napoli's need to offload players not in Conte's plans. No immediate acceleration in talks is expected, and discussions will likely intensify after the match against Venezia, with serious negotiations set to begin next week.
