Baroni: "I'm Pleased With Our Performance. In Our Next Match, We'll Increase The Playing Time For Those Who Have Played Less. Everyone Needs To Be Ready To Step In."
After the 1-1 draw between Southampton and Lazio, with goals from Brereton Diaz and Castellanos, coach Baroni shared his thoughts with Lazio Style Channel:
"Tonight's game was real, played with the right mindset and unity. These matches are tough. I believe there was a foul on Isaksen near our bench during their goal, but we showed personality and the mentality we're aiming for. I'm pleased with our performance. We need to emphasize the collective effort, play together, and stay engaged in the match. Dele Bashiru didn't play due to a dental procedure, and we had some absences. I wanted to bring in Castrovilli and Gila to get them in shape quickly. The team is progressing. We played with confidence, attacked well, and managed duels effectively."
"In our next match, we'll increase the playing time for those who have played less. We're looking forward to Tavares joining us soon. We shouldn't focus on the starting eleven but on the whole team. Everyone needs to be ready to step in. This is the mentality I want to instill. I prefer dynamic, pressing football over positional play. This disrupts the opponent's game. We're working towards this, and the players understand it's better to move forward than backward. We need balance, but the team did well. They were physical, had rhythm, and stayed in the game even after the sending off."
"Taty scored, but I pointed out the missed opportunity. A player like him needs to score. We had chances, like with Lazzari, and several others. We need to attack the area, the goal, and take more shots."
