[Official] Former Lazio Goalkeeper Returns To His Birthplace To Join AEK Athens

The speculation is over. Thomas Strakosha is now officially an AEK Athens player. The Greek club announced that the Albanian goalkeeper has signed a 5-year contract.

This transfer follows Strakosha's impressive performances for Albania in this summer's European Championship.

The "Red and Black Guardian" wraps up his two-year stint in England with Brentford. The 29-year-old moved due to limited playing time, whereas at AEK, he is assured a spot in the starting lineup.

Strakosha, born in Athens but representing Albania internationally, made six appearances for Brentford since joining in 2022.
