[Official] Diego Gonzalez Selected To Represent Paraguay U23 At The Paris Olympics

The official roster of players selected by Paraguay for the upcoming Olympics in Paris has been announced. Coach Carlos Saguier has picked 18 players for the French campaign, including Diego Gonzalez from Lazio.

Gonzalez, who has split his time this year between Lazio's First Team and the Primavera, will join his national team in France, missing the training camp in Auronzo di Cadore entirely. This means he will not have the opportunity to impress Coach Baroni and his staff until just before the start of the championship.

Paraguay is guaranteed three matches in the Olympics, with further games dependent on their performance and progress. Their campaign begins on Wednesday, July 24, in Bordeaux against Japan at 7 pm. The second match is scheduled for Saturday, July 27, at the Parc des Princes, also at 7 pm, against Israel. The group stage concludes in Paris against Mali on Tuesday, July 30.
