[Official] Almería Announced Permanent Signing Of Goalkeeper Luis Maximiano

Despite their relegation to the Segunda Division, Almería has officially announced the permanent acquisition of goalkeeper Luis Maximiano from Lazio. The Spanish club, which had an obligation to buy clause in the loan deal from last year, has now activated this clause, paying approximately 8.5 million euros to Lazio.

Maximiano will stay with UD Almería for the 2024/25 season and has agreed to a new contract that extends until June 2029. This means he will be with the club for the next five seasons.

The 25-year-old Portuguese keeper joined Almería last summer on loan from Serie A's SS Lazio. He quickly made his mark, starting in the second match of the season against Real Madrid CF. His impressive performances throughout the season earned him the MVP title in several matches.

Maximiano has been a consistent presence, starting in 33 league matches for Almería.
