[Official] Alaves Secured The Loan Signing Of Former Lazio Youngster Luka Romero For This Season
This evening, Milan officially announced the departure of Luka Romero, who is heading back to La Liga, this time to join Alaves. The Rossoneri club confirmed the move with a statement detailing the transfer:
"AC Milan announces that it has temporarily transferred, until 30 June 2025, with an option for permanent acquisition, the sporting performances of footballer Luka Romero to Deportivo Alavés. The Rossoneri Club wishes Luka the best for the upcoming season."
Romero joined Milan on a free transfer from Lazio last summer and impressed during pre-season, but saw limited playing time afterward. In January, he was loaned to Almeria for six months, where he scored three goals, including a brace against Atletico Madrid.
At 15 years and 255 days old, Romero became the youngest player to debut in La Liga history in 2020 before moving to Lazio. Currently, Christian Pulisic and Samuel Chukwueze are ahead of him in Milan's pecking order.
Spanish journalist Cesar Luis Merlo reported, and Calciomercato.com confirmed, that the option to buy is set at €7 million. If Alaves decides to spend that amount, it will result in a pure capital gain for Milan, given Romero arrived on a free transfer.
