Marcos Antonio's Transfer Stalls As Lazio And Flamengo Struggle To Reach Agreement

Uncertainty continues to surround Marcos Antonio's future. After his loan to PAOK, the midfielder is set to depart once more. With no room for him in Lazio, the club is eager to offload him quickly to reduce their excess squad. Flamengo has shown interest in bringing him back to Brazil for some time.

However, negotiations appear to have hit a snag. According to the Brazilian portal geglobo, there is a discrepancy between Lazio's demands and Flamengo's offer. Flamengo are prepared to propose an expensive loan deal worth 400 thousand euros, with an obligation to buy based on a certain number of appearances, totaling 4 million euros. This strategy aims to minimize the initial financial risk and assess Marcos Antonio's performance before committing to a permanent transfer.

Lazio, however, are holding firm, asking for 6 million euros for a direct sale. The Italian club are open to a deal involving performance-based targets to lower the initial price, but no agreement has been reached with Flamengo on these terms.

The situation remains at an impasse. Flamengo are not rushing to finalize the deal, and both sides are optimistic about reaching an agreement before the Brazilian transfer window closes on September 2nd. This extended period allows for further negotiations and adjustments to meet the demands of both clubs.
