Guendouzi: "I Feel Healthy And Confident That We Can Achieve Good Results With Our Strong Squad. We Always Fight For The Club And The Fans."
Lazio midfielder Matteo Guendouzi reflects on his debut season in Italian football and vows to deliver even better performances next season. The 25-year-old joined Lazio from Olympique Marseille last summer and quickly became a key player under Maurizio Sarri.
Guendouzi takes away many positives from his first year at Lazio, highlighted by an impressive victory over Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16.
“We created incredible memories in the Champions League last season. It was a great campaign. The fans especially loved our home win against Bayern Munich, a cherished memory. And, of course, winning the derby against Roma at home was amazing," the midfielder told La Lazio Siamo Noi.
Guendouzi acknowledged that he still has room for improvement, particularly in contributing more goals and assists.
"I have a lot of room to improve, I'm still young and can get better. I need to score more goals and provide more assists, but I am definitely a stronger player than last year. I feel healthy and confident that we can achieve good results with our strong squad."
He also highlighted the importance of Biancoceleste supporters and promised to give his all for the club.
"The fans are a crucial part of this club, and unity is essential. We know we have to fight for them and give everything on the pitch. They love us because even when we lose, we always fight for the club and the fans. Together, we can achieve our goals."
