The Successful Loan Spell At Empoli Fuels Cancellieri's Desire For A Lazio Return

Matteo Cancellieri has returned to Lazio after a successful season-long loan at Empoli, where he demonstrated his potential. The 22-year-old Italian striker was loaned out to gain playing time following a less impactful debut season under Maurizio Sarri.

During his time at Empoli, Cancellieri contributed four goals and three assists in 36 matches, showcasing his growth and prompting Lazio to reconsider his future with the team.

According to LaLazioSiamoNoi, Cancellieri is eager to take advantage of Igor Tudor's new project at Lazio and aims to impress during pre-season to secure his spot in the squad. His agent has confirmed his client's determination to make a strong impression at the pre-season training camp.

Cancellieri's contract with Lazio runs until June 2027, and with Felipe Anderson's departure to Palmeiras, he has a realistic chance to fight for his place in the team.
