Samardzic, Lazio's Summer Target, Has Been Requested By Mourinho To Strengthen Fenerbahce
In addition to Lazio, it is rumored that Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce will also be in the running for Udinese midfielder Lazar Samardzic, who is valued at 25 million euros this summer.
Both clubs are keen on Samardzic, who is currently playing for the Serbian national team in the Euro 2024 tournament in Germany.
Last summer, Samardzic was close to joining Inter for 15 million Euros plus midfielder Giovanni Fabbian, but the deal fell through due to a last-minute contract change by his agent. He was also nearly signed by Napoli in January, but that transfer didn't happen either.
According to Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia, Lazio are now interested in the 22-year-old creative midfielder after the departures of Luis Alberto and Felipe Anderson.
They will face competition from Fenerbahce, where Mourinho has requested Samardzic's signing. Juventus is also in the mix, waiting to see who will meet the 25 million Euro asking price.
Udinese acquired Samardzic from RB Leipzig for 3 million Euros in 2021, and his contract runs until 2026. This season, he has scored six goals and made two assists in 34 Serie A appearances for Udinese.
