Luca Pellegrini On AC Milan's Radar: A Potential Summer Move Amid Lazio's Strategic Shifts
Lazio fullback Luca Pellegrini is reportedly attracting interest from rival club AC Milan this summer. The Rossoneri are in search of a suitable replacement for Theo Hernandez, and Pellegrini, who has not been a regular at Formello for the past two seasons, fits their criteria.
AC Milan has been seeking a replacement for Theo Hernandez for several years and is now considering Luca Pellegrini. The Italian defender has struggled for regular playing time at Lazio due to various injuries. Lazio signed him from Juventus on an 18-month loan with an obligation to buy last summer.
According to La Repubblica, there is a possibility that Pellegrini could switch clubs again this summer, depending on the offers received, the players Lazio recruits, and Marco Baroni's plans. Pellegrini made 26 appearances during the 2023/24 season, contributing one goal and one assist.
The Rossoneri will need to compete with West Ham, Aston Villa, and Real Betis to secure Pellegrini's signature. Meanwhile, Lazio is working on the transfer of Juan Cabal and may rely on Adam Marusic and Elseid Hysaj to fill Pellegrini's position if he departs.
Lazio is obligated to buy the 25-year-old defender for 4 million euros next year. Pellegrini, who joined alongside Nicolo Rovella, has previously been on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt, Cagliari, and Genoa. Despite being under contract with Juventus since 2019, he played 21 times in one season for the Old Lady.
