Lazio's Midfield Star Begins A Fresh Chapter With Al-Duhail After Both Clubs Reach An Agreement
Lazio have reportedly finalized an agreement with Al-Duhail for the transfer of Spanish midfielder Luis Alberto, who is set to join the Qatari club soon.
After deciding to leave Lazio this summer due to feeling unfulfilled in Rome despite signing a new contract last October, Alberto's move to Al-Duhail has been in the works for some time. The clubs have struggled to come to terms, with Lazio's president Claudio Lotito initially reluctant to let Alberto leave without compensation.
According to Matteo Moretto, Lazio have agreed to sell Alberto to Al-Duhail for around 12 million Euros, along with an 11 million Euro bonus. The final paperwork exchange is expected to take place in the coming days.
Alberto, who has amassed 307 appearances and 52 goals for Lazio during his eight seasons there, including winning the Coppa Italia and Italian Super Cup, is preparing to travel to Qatar within the next two weeks to complete the transfer.
