Lazio To Hold Talks With Guendouzi About His Future Next Season
Serie A giants Lazio are reportedly trying to persuade their key midfielder, Matteo Guendouzi, to remain at the club after the summer transfer window. Despite interest from Aston Villa, the club director has denied that the player will leave the Italian capital.
Lazio are ready to convince Aston Villa target Matteo Guendouzi to stay beyond this summer. The 25-year-old midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Villa Park.
Unai Emery, who coached Guendouzi at Arsenal, is keen to reunite with him at Villa Park. However, Lazio maintain that they do not wish to sell the player, even though Guendouzi is reportedly not fitting into coach Igor Tudor's two-midfielder formation.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the Biancoceleste are currently working to persuade Guendouzi to continue his career at the Stadio Olimpico. They are prepared to hold talks with the player's agent to calm the situation.
Although Guendouzi did not start in Lazio's last two Serie A matches, the club still wants to keep him. Meanwhile, Aston Villa remains hopeful that Guendouzi will express his desire to leave for the Italian capital club this summer.
