Girona Made A Bid To Lure Castellanos Away From Lazio


La Liga side Girona Have reportedly made a bid to bring back Lazio's striker, Valentin Castellanos, who joined the Italian club last summer. The Argentine forward had previously played for the Catalan team before moving to Lazio.


Girona remains interested in Castellanos and has made an offer to Lazio to re-sign the striker this summer. During the 2022/23 season, Castellanos was on loan at Girona from New York City FC, where he impressed with 14 goals in 37 matches, prompting Lazio to secure his transfer for 15 million Euros.


In his debut season with Lazio, Castellanos has performed well, scoring six goals and providing five assists in 46 matches. Many fans hope he will replace Ciro Immobile in the starting lineup next season.


According to Il Messaggero, Girona plans to sell Artem Dovbyk this summer after his successful season in La Liga, necessitating the search for a new striker. They have targeted Castellanos and are keen to bring him back.


The Spanish club has offered Lazio around 12 million Euros plus a 3 million Euro bonus for the 25-year-old. However, Lazio considers Castellanos a crucial part of their plans and is not interested in selling him this summer.
