Amrabat Linked To Lazio Following A Difficult Season With Manchester United

Lazio are reportedly considering a transfer for Manchester United's loan player, Sofyan Amrabat, who has struggled this season at Old Trafford. The Moroccan international previously enjoyed successful seasons in Serie A with Fiorentina.

After a disappointing stint at Manchester United, Amrabat is being linked with a move to Lazio this summer, according to Il Corriere dello Sport. The 27-year-old hopes to revive his career in Serie A, where he had previously excelled with Fiorentina.

Amrabat, a product of the Utrecht academy, made a name for himself in Serie A after joining Hellas Verona in 2019. He later moved to Fiorentina and established himself as a top defensive midfielder in Italian football. His impressive performance at the 2022 World Cup further highlighted his talents.

Manchester United secured Amrabat on loan last summer with a purchase option of 20 million Euros. Despite winning the FA Cup, Amrabat's overall season was disappointing, leading United to decide against activating the purchase option, resulting in his return to Tuscany.

The report also indicates that Lazio are targeting Amrabat to bolster their midfield options, as he fits the profile desired by Igor Tudor. Amrabat's salary at Fiorentina is 2 million Euros, and with his contract set to expire in June 2025, he could be available at a reasonable price.
