Tavano: "Mandas? Now He Is Second Choice, But Has Proven Himself To Be Able To Replace Provedel. I Don't Think President Claudio Lotito Will Stand In The Way Of A Contract Extension."
The agent for goalkeeper Christos Mandas has confirmed that there is interest from abroad in his client, especially after reports of Manchester City's interest. The agent has advised Lazio to review Mandas' contract in light of this interest.
Christos Mandas, who was signed for 1.3 million Euros from OFI Crete last summer as the third-choice goalkeeper, has impressed with his performances, keeping four clean sheets in eight Serie A matches. Due to injuries to Provedel the main goalkeeper, he has become the second choice, prompting discussions about a contract extension.
Diego Tavano, Mandas' Agent, mentioned to Sky Sport Italia about the foreign interest and expressed confidence that president Claudio Lotito would not hinder a contract extension, suggesting that a new contract might be offered at a reasonable rate given Mandas' talent.
"Now he is second choice, but has proven himself to be able to replace Provedel, we have to discuss it, apart from that there is interest from abroad and we will discuss it with the club."
"I don't think president Claudio Lotito will stand in the way of a contract extension and may offer a new contract to the talent recruited at a very affordable price."
The agent highlighted Mandas' strengths, including his agility, dedication to improvement, and ability to play with his feet, suggesting that Lazio should recognize his potential and consider offering him a new contract.
"He possesses a keen reactive style as a goalkeeper, viewing his sport as an obsession and wants to be one of the best in the world. I believe this drive can be a game-changer."
"His adeptness with ball handling and involvement in initiating play from the defensive end are noteworthy. Lazio deserves acknowledgment for providing him with this opportunity, and he has responded positively to it."
