Tudor: "This Is The Best Debut I Could Have Hoped For. We Practiced Hard, And What Occurs On Match Day Is A Result Of What We Did In Training."
Igor Tudor expressed his delight at his impressive debut as Lazio's coach, following their 1-0 victory against Juventus in the Serie A match on Saturday evening at the Stadio Olimpico. Tudor, who took over during the last international break after Maurizio Sarri's resignation, made significant changes to the team's formation and roles, which proved successful as Matteo Guendouzi's assist led to Adam Marusic's crucial header in the final moments of the game.
Tudor described the win as the best debut he could have hoped for, praising the players for their interpretation of the game and their strong start. Despite facing his former team, Juventus, Tudor emphasized the importance of hard work over luck and highlighted the strategic changes made to the defensive lineup.
"This is the best debut I could have hoped for," Tudor stated on DAZN.
"It was incredible to win in this way, and we couldn't have started this journey better. I'm pleased with how the guys interpreted the game and began on the correct foot."
"I don't believe in good or bad luck; only hard work. We practiced hard, and what occurs on match day is a result of what we did in training; we don't want to use it as an excuse."
The victory propelled Lazio past Napoli in the standings, keeping them in contention for a Champions League spot. Their upcoming matches include a Coppa Italia semi-final against Juventus and a Derby della Capitale clash with Roma.
