Competition For Colpani: Juventus And Lazio Battle For Monza's Star Player
Juventus and Lazio are both eyeing Monza's standout talent, Andrea Colpani, who has been a key player in the 2023/24 Serie A season. The 24-year-old, once part of Atalanta's academy, caught Juventus's attention due to his impressive performances but struggled to secure a spot under Gian Pierro Gasperini's team. In 2020, Colpani opted to join Monza initially on loan before signing permanently in 2022.
While Colpani has started this season exceptionally well with consistent goal contributions, albeit with a slight decline recently, he remains highly regarded as one of Serie A's top wingers. Lazio had been monitoring him, but reports from Tuttosport indicate that Juventus has also entered the fray, seeing him as a good fit for their squad.
Juventus had initially pursued a different winger, linked with Lazio, but the player chose to join Palmeiras in Brazil. Consequently, Juventus redirected their attention to players like Colpani, reigniting their interest in Serie A talents.
Colpani's impressive stats this season include 33 Serie A appearances, eight goals, and four assists, with his contract running until June 2028. His outstanding performances have even earned him a call-up to the Italian national team, although he has yet to debut in an international match.
