[Official] No Klose Or Rocchi, Martusciello Will Manage Lazio Until June

The coaching position at Lazio has undergone a significant change as Maurizio Sarri has stepped down from his role. The final moments leading up to this decision were filled with intensity, featuring a resignation, discussions, and ultimately a resolution. Taking charge of the Biancoceleste, at least until June, will be Giovanni Martusciello, a long-standing assistant to the Commander. With the team currently experiencing a severe downturn and falling far short of anticipated results, Martusciello will endeavor to uplift their spirits and bring about a much-needed turnaround.

Could there be a shift in tactics on the horizon? The coach may be already pondering some tactical innovations, such as a potential alteration in formation. During the press conference following the loss to Udinese, Martusciello hinted at the potential adoption of a 4-2-3-1 setup. While the overall ideas remain in line with those of the Commander, it's worth noting that the coach has also collaborated with another esteemed Italian coach, Spalletti.

His first experience as first coach came in the 2016/17 season, following Giampaolo's departure from Empoli. The Tuscan squad suffered a disappointing season and was relegated to Serie B. Martusciello finished with 8 victories, 8 draws, and 22 losses in the league, and Corsi did not affirm him.

Now, Martusciello is presented with a tremendous opportunity as a formidable technical leader sought by Lazio, at least until June. It remains to be seen if, should he excel in his role, discussions regarding his potential continuation with the club may arise.
